Orange Tree Golf Resort Scottsdale
The conveniently situated Orange Tree Golf Resort attracts couples, and golf enthusiasts and their families from everywhere for well-appointed vacations at any time of year. Close enough to downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix for shopping and nightlife, yet quiet despite its access to major highways heading north (to Sedona and the Grand Canyon), south (to Tucson and Mexico), and west (to Southern California), this three-and-a-half star resort hotel is a luxurious base from which to discover Arizona.
Nestled up against the Century Country Club, a parkland-style 18-hole USGA-rated course, the Orange Tree is a natural venue for corporate golf tournaments. Suites and condos come equipped with kitchenettes complete with microwave ovens, full-size refrigerators, sinks, and dishes. Guests of the Orange Tree, writing at online hotel review sites, rave about the resort's Tempurpedic mattresses and the good nights' sleep they get on them. They also often remark very graciously regarding the resort's friendly and competent staff.
The 128-acre complex, about 15 miles from PHX, includes 160 nonsmoking suites, each comprising 740 square feet and a private deck. Standard room amenities include a 32-inch flat screen TV with DVD player in the living room, a 15-inch flat screen TV in the bedroom, complimentary wireless internet access, bathrooms with double sinks and jetted tubs, iPod dock with speakers and alarm clock, and safe. The parking-reception-conference facilities are largely separate from the condos and suites, so some guests will rely on the hotel's complimentary, GPS-equipped golf carts for getting between their suites and their cars. Visitors looking for spa and/or concierge services, or a health club have discounted access to nearby therapists and facilities. Available spa services include more than a dozen specialty massages.
Within a few minutes' drive, visitors will find casual and fine dining restaurants, shops, and bars. The resort does have a large pool with lanes for lap-swimmers, as well as six function rooms of various sizes for social and business gatherings. Families will especially appreciate the on-site laundry facilities. Guests who booked their stays through bargain-hunters' websites gushed about the rates they were able to obtain.
In 2009, the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded the Orange Tree one of its three highest “Green by Design” awards for the resort's reduction of nonrecyclable waste and water usage, and implementation of an on-site recycling program.
With its easy access to regional attractions, your suite at the Orange Tree is a fine place to regroup after a day of golf, hiking in Sonora desert, river rafting, hot air ballooning, or shopping.
